A bride and groom on their wedding day in a forest in Chard, Somerset. Near the Windwhistle Inn.

It is great to be a wedding photographer in South Somerset, with neighboring Dorset, Wiltshire and Devon we have some amazing locations and views.

Laura and Dean’s wedding day started for me with Laura and her bridesmaids at her home in Merriott, Somerset. The sun was beaming through the windows, it was a glorious day for a wedding. I then headed a short way away to catch up with Dean who had set his meeting place with his groomsmen at the local pub closest to the church, this is such a great idea for a meeting spot. After hanging out with the groom and groomsmen I then popped back into Bridal preparations where Laura had put on her dress and was ready to reveal how incredible she looked to her eagerly awaiting father. It is such an emotional time at a wedding when a bride’s nearest and dearest see her in her wedding outfit for the first time.

The wonderful ceremony was held a All Saints Church in Merriott, there was some really magical moments, like when Laura and her Father were at the church doors having one last hug before changing her maiden name and shortly followed by Dean slowly turning to see his bride approach. The ceremony was fantastic, the sun was piecing through the stained glass church windows and everyone was smiling the whole time.

Post ceremony the drinks reception and wedding breakfast was held at The Windwhistle Inn which is on the Cricket St. Thomas Estate, hosting incredible views over the rolling hills of Somerset. The sun stayed out, sunset was beautiful and they partied hard! Another awesome wedding!
